“Engine
Company X: The Powerful Voice”
1886-1969
(Run Time 1 Hr 15 Min) covers the history of African-Americans from the first
black fireman in Los Angeles through the segregation & integration battles,
the formation of THE STENTORIANS, and
the 1960’s. 1965’s Watts Riots and other catastrophic events are spotlighted
from the unique perspective of our African-American firefighters. This
documentary is further highlighted by classic photographs, articles, and live
footage of classics sites and stations all over Los Angeles.
“Engine
Company X: The New Stentorians”
1970-2004
(Run Time 2 Hrs 3 Min) covers the modern age of firefighting. The history
of the Los Angeles City
Fire Department & the Los Angeles County Fire Department continues
with the added history of the fabled Los Angeles County Lifeguards. Appearing in
this film are the first black man and woman to promote to Captain, the earliest
black Lifeguard, and a Stentorian who has been honored by the White House.
Modern events such as 1992’s Rodney King Riots and 9/11 are spotlighted. Live
action footage of firefighters on land & Lifeguards at sea adds to the
energy and excitement of this film. These films are productions of WESTLAKE SIGNAL GROUP |
