COMPANY X: THE NEW STENTORIANS
The Final Installment of the WSG Documentary Series Is Complete Los Angeles, Ca (July 16, 2004)-Westlake
Signal Group is proud to announce that the follow-up to 2003’s acclaimed The Powerful Voice is now
complete. The latest & The
New Stentorians continues the true stories of African-Americans on Los Angeles’ fire
service from the years 1970 to today and features a Los Angeles City Fire
Captain whose work in the community was honored by the White House. Also
featured is the first African-American Woman to promote to Captain on L.A.
County Fire, the first African-American Lifeguard in L.A. County, and the first
African-American male to promote to Captain in L.A. County. In addition to
looking at Los Angeles’ political landscape, major events such as the 1992
Rodney King Riots and the terrorist attacks of 9/11 are spotlighted. A section
is devoted to Stentorians who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of
duty. What
adds to the excitement of this film is the breathtaking field footage, which was
shot by WSG cameras at the scenes of fires, accidents, and water rescues.
Additional photographs were also added from the African-American Firefighter
Museum collection along with photos from noted a Los Angeles news photographer. “The combination of The Stentorians with

Press Release (July 16, 2004) Like
its predecessor, The Powerful Voice, this film will be added to the
archive of the African-American Firefighter Museum. It will also enjoy several
screening dates where the public will be invited and it will enjoy several
airdates with television station LA36. All
of the above are TBA at this time with the exception of ECX’s premiere at the
International Association of Black Professional Firefighters Convention in
August 2004. The ECX Project began in July 2002 and the journey ends exactly two
years later in July 2004. WSG thanks ALL of those who have supported this project over the
